ULTIMED ANNOUNCES NEW PEN NEEDLE SHARPS CONTAINER PATENTS

ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA – August 11, 2005 – The United States Patent Office has issued to UltiMed Patent No: 6,923,318 B1 for a sharps container which handles both pen needles and syringes. They have also issued Patent No: 6,923,319 B1 to UltiMed for a dual-use UltiGuard pen needle dispenser and sharps container.

These two recently approved patents are the first in a series of pen needle sharps container patents applied for by UltiMed. At the present time, UltiMed has seven sharps container patents for both syringes and pen needles which are in various phases of domestic and international approval.
